Indian Institute of Arbitration & Mediation is the only institution in India approved by the International Mediation Institute (IMI) at The Hague, Netherlands, which is formed for the purpose of certifying international standards for mediators and for implementing the Global Mediator Competency Certification. The President of IIAM is a Member of the IMI Independent Standards Commission.

IMI has also endorsed the IIAM Community Mediation Service and the Chairman of the Advisory Board of IMI is deputed as Member of the DPM Advisory Board of IIAM.

Indian Institute of Arbitration & Mediation is a member of the Asian Mediation Association (AMA). AMA brings together the leading mediation centres in the ASEAN countries and provides access to resources for the settlement of business and commercial disputes in Asia, involving Asian businesses and business cultures. AMA also formulates guidelines for Mediation training courses and mediator accreditation within the ASEAN countries.

Indian Institute of Arbitration & Mediation has entered into a collaboration with the highly ranked Dispute Resolution Institute at Hamline University School of Law, Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA to promote ADR in India. Under the mutual cooperation, Indian lawyers can apply to 24 credit Hamline LL.M for International Lawyers and receive substantial scholarship for tuition.

Indian Institute of Arbitration & Mediation has entered into a Mutual Co-operation agreement with ADR Chambers (UK) Limited, a leading international organization of professional dispute resolution providers, having its office at Equity House, Blackbrook Park, Taunton, Somerset, United Kingdom.

The purpose of the mutual co-operation is to mutually assist and guide each other in the various fields of ADR and to help the members of the institutions for effectively resolving their dispute in either countries.

Indian Institute of Arbitration & Mediation has become the first International Associate Member of the Civil Mediation Council of the United Kingdom, the accrediting body for Mediation Providers. The Civil Mediation Council recognized IIAM's role and work in India and the importance of mutual cooperation in the development of international mediation links.
